Image Optimizer FAQ
Clear answers about formats, file handling, downloads, and common results.
Are my images uploaded?
No. MEZENCORE processes selected images in your browser; the tool does not send them to a server. Your browser still downloads the site’s files from its host.
Which files can I select?
You can select JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF, AVIF, GIF, SVG, JXL, ICO, and TIFF. MEZENCORE includes decoders for HEIC/HEIF, ICO, and TIFF. JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, SVG, and JXL use browser image support, so those formats can vary across browsers.
Exports are JPG, PNG, WebP, or ICO. Default keeps JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, and JXL in the same format when supported; TIFF and JXL output depends on the browser. HEIC/HEIF, AVIF, GIF, SVG, and ICO become PNG.
Can I use a HEIC photo from an iPhone?
MEZENCORE includes a decoder for HEIC and HEIF files, so opening them does not depend on the browser’s HEIC support. Very large images or unusual files may still fail if the device runs short of memory. Keep the original if you need its camera metadata; compressed output does not retain EXIF information.
Will image quality change?
It can. Stronger compression may soften edges or add artifacts, especially in detailed photos. For screenshots with small text, try PNG or resize the image before lowering quality. Check the downloaded file at its intended display size.
Is there a fixed file-size limit?
The tool does not set one universal maximum input size. The practical limit depends on device memory, browser support, and the image itself. If a large phone photo fails, try a smaller copy or reduce its dimensions first.
Can I process several files and download a ZIP?
Select multiple images to download the results as ZIP archives. Large batches may be split across several archives. You can also download files individually.
Can I use the site offline?
After a successful visit, the browser may cache the tool and pages you have opened. You need an internet connection for the first visit; uncached pages or files may still need one later. Browser storage settings affect what remains available.
Which browsers work?
Support depends on the browser and format. MEZENCORE includes decoders for HEIC/HEIF, ICO, and TIFF; AVIF, SVG, and JXL rely on browser image support. Test a copy before relying on a specific format.
Why is the result larger?
A source may already be compressed, or a lossless format may preserve detail that takes more space. Larger dimensions and a higher quality setting can also increase file size. See why an image may stay large after compression.
What does MEZENCORE store?
The app stores your image settings in this browser’s local storage, not the selected files. MEZENCORE currently uses no cookies, ads, or analytics.
